Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal developed high-intensity high nitrogen stainless steel “HRX19” for high-pressure hydrogen. It has high mechanical strength, 800 MPa of tensile strength level, and has fine hydrogen gas embrittlement resistance. It be proven good performance at assessment study by Japan Research and Development Center for Metals.
