Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal announced on 30th to invest around 18 billion yen for extension of coke oven to Kashima Works.
New oven will be established next to existing ovens of No.1 coke oven, and annual capability of cokes will be 340,000 tons. The construction for the furnace will be started in the end of 2014, and start the operation in August of 2016.
