JFE Steel will expand application of hot metal preliminary treatment, and increase application ratio from 60-65% to 90% in fiscal 2014. The firm will build an additional converter furnace for hot metal preliminary treatment to West Japan Works Fukuyama area No.3 steel plant in the end of January 2015, and introduce new converter furnace type hot metal preliminary treatment process substantiated in Keihin area steel plant.
