Consortium of Midrex Technologies and Siemens Industry Accepts an Order of Direct-Reduced Iron Plant

Kobe Steel announced on 5th, the consortium that Midrex Technologies which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kobe Steel in the United States and Siemens Industry in Germany formed, accepted an order of direct-reduced iron plant that voestalpine Stahl, the major iron and steel company in Australia, will establish in Texas, U.S.A.. The plant using Midrex process, will be the world biggest Hot Briquette Iron production base which has annual 2 billion tons output capability.
