Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Nagoya Works held completion ceremony for No.5 coke oven which introduced following generation cokes making technology “SCOPE21” in the works. 300 authorized people turned out.
New coke oven was constructed as refreshment for No.3 coke oven in Nagoya. SCOPE21 was developed as a Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry-run government project in order to strengthen correspondence to material and energy issue surrounding steel business. It has cutting edge technology including quality improvement of cokes by prior rapid heating of coking coal and substantial shortening of manufacturing time.
