Nippon Steel, Sumitomo Metal Industries and Mitsui announced on 25th, they have decided to strengthen Cape Lambert, a shipment port of Robe River, which is a joint venture for iron ore in Western Australia. They will invest 4.7 billion Australian dollar to increase anual shipment ability of the shipment port by 70 million tons in the first half of 2015. Combine with active expanding plan, shipment ability increases by 123 million tons from current level to 23 million tons. Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Industries which will be Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal on October 1st covers 48 billion yen, and Mitsui absorbs about 124 billion yen. They continues massive increase keeping step with a plan by Rio Tinto which is a partner of the joint venture.
