JFE Bars & Shapes’ Saitama plant tries to improve quality and competitiveness for small sized concrete reinforcing steel bar. The plant renews old roughing mill and improves billet making technology in fiscal 2012 started April. The firm establishes optimum production at the plant and Ibaraki plant. The Saitama plant shifts to direct rolling process in fiscal 2013 to improve productivity and energy efficiency.
The plant makes small sized rebar at the facility with a 50 tonnes electric furnaces. The plant makes around 25,000 tonnes per month of rebar with 10 millimeters, 13 mm and 16 mm of diameter at the plant with 30,000 tonnes of billet production capacity and 28,000 tonnes of rebar output capacity. The plant introduced eccentric bottom taping electric furnace and expanded dust collector.
