Fujikura announced on Wednesday the firm expects the electronics and auto unit will post consolidated operating profit in second half of fiscal 2012 ending March 2013 while the unit suffered from Thai flood. The unit posted 300 million yen of operating loss and 8 billion yen of special loss in second half of fiscal 2011 due to Thai flood damage. The unit will post 900 million yen of operating profit in the second half of fiscal 2012 while the unit will post 1.3 billion yen of loss in the first half.
The segment posted 900 million yen of operating profit with 6.7% lower sales at 182.1 billion yen in fiscal 2011 from fiscal 2010 with 100 million yen of operating loss. The unit planned 5 billion yen of operating profit with 223 billion yen of sales before Thai flood. The unit posted 23.4 billion yen of loss related Thai flood. The total company plans 13 billion yen of operating profit in fiscal 2012, which is 2.9% lower than fiscal 2011 level.
