Weak Coated Flat Rolled Steel Price in Tokyo, Osaka

Market price of coated flat rolled steel is weak in Tokyo and Osaka. The market price is 84,000-88,000 yen per tonne for electrogalvanized steel based on hot rolled flat steel, 95,000-98,000 yen for cold rolled flat steel based product and 85,000-89,000 yen for hot dipped galvanized steel around Tokyo. The price is 84,000 yen for electrogalvanized steel based on hot rolled flat steel around Osaka.

The shipment is slow in Tokyo and Osaka. The shipment decreases for building around Tokyo due to seasonal slower demand while the inventory gets higher due to the slow shipment. One industry source sees the shipment would increase for logistic facilities and industrial estate.

Local coil centers and dealers are reducing the inventory to meet the demand around Osaka. The arrival from integrated steel makers to the coil centers decreases when the makers reduce the shipment for the dealers and the dealers reduce the inventory under slower demand.
