Nippon Steel Engineering plans to enlarge cogeneration energy supply business from Thailand to neighboring countries in future. The firm appeals high-sufficient energy supply system in emerging countries.
Nippon Steel Engineering has provided design and construction services of cogeneration system to Japanese enterprises such as tire, chemical and food industries. The firm established the overseas energy supply business department on October 1 when domestic users advance operative diversification to overseas. Mr. Makoto Takahashi, president of Nippon Steel Engineering, told the firm will design out the mid-term business plan within 12-18 months and aims the annual sales at 15-20 billion yen in 2015. Nippon Steel Engineering eyes Thai market for the first step where many Japanese manufactures have operated local sites. Additionally it is relatively easy to enter local electric power industry under stable government policy in Thailand. The business contract is basically on a long term of fifteen years.
