Japan Secondary Al Alloy Production Turns Y/Y Plus in September

Japanese secondary aluminium and aluminium alloy production was 70,732 tonnes and the shipment was 70,987 tonnes in September, according to Japan Aluminium Alloy Refiners Association. The production increased by 3% from a year earlier and represented first year-on-year increase since February 2011. The shipment increased by 3.1% from a year earlier and represented year-on-year increase for two months in a row.

The shipment for die casting represented year-on-year increase for two months in a row through September along car makers’ output expansion. The shipment for casting turned to year-on-year increase after seven months. The shipment for RSI (re-melted aluminium can scrap ingot) and the shipment for deoxidizing agent in steel making kept year-on-year increase for two months. The shipment for extrusion also turned to year-on-year increase for the first time in fifteen months along car makers’ output expansion.
