Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Yukio Edano showed concern about supply chain disruption due to the flood damage on Thai Industries including transplants of Japanese companies at a press conference held on Wednesday. Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry checks the damage situation through Japan External Trade Organization.
Steel products output stopped at some transplants of Japanese steel companies in Thailand due to the flood damage. Additionally, some Thai finished car and auto components plants suspended the output due to supply shortage. The steel consumption could decrease due to the supply chain disruption. World’s largest miniature bearing maker, Minebea’s Ayutthaya plant and Rojana plant in Ayutthaya province of Thailand has been suspended since Friday while other three Thai plants continue the operation. There were no casualties at die cast parts making Rojana plant. However, the plant is flooded and Minebea has no immediate plan to resume the plant. The firm tries to increase the purchase from third parties.M | T | W | T | F | S | S |
