Krosaki Harima to Increase India Refractory Capacity

Japanese major refractory maker, Krosaki Harima announced on Tuesday the firm increases the capacity of refractory to adjust molten steel flow to 2.2 times at annual 8,000 tonnes at Belpahar plant, Orissa of Indian subsidiary, TRL Krosaki Refractories for around 700 million rupees. The new facilities would launch the operation in September of 2013.The refractory demand is increasing for use at ladle furnace and continuous casting in India. The subsidiary’s sales are high at 400 tonnes per month against 300 tonnes capacity. Krosaki Harima increases the capacity of the subsidiary and supports the technology when the demand grows in India.Krosaki Harima acquired 51% shares of India’s largest refractory maker, Tata Refractories in May and changed the name into TRL Krosaki Refractories. Krosaki Harima announced new mud making plant construction at Indian subsidiary’s Belpahar plant in July.
