Nihon Seiko to Increase Antimony Packaging at Nakase Refinery

Japan’s largest antimony trioxide maker, Nihon Seiko increase packaging capacity of Nakase refinery, Hyogo with 100 million yen at the earliest in summer of 2012. The firm tries to shorten the lead time by eliminating the bottle neck.

The capacity gap between packaging line and upstream operations of Nakase refinery lengthen the lead time.

The long lead time increases the impact of antimony price volatility while antimony price tripled to US$ 15,000 yen per tonne in the past 2 years. Nihon Seiko avoids the risk of price change and large financial burden.

Nihon Seiko’s antimony products output capacity including antimony trioxide is 6,400 tonnes per year while the firm’s record output was 6,181 tonnes in fiscal 2004 ended March 2005. The firm plans 5,700 tonnes of the output for fiscal 2011.
