Japan Steel Scrap Composite Prices, which are averaged ferrous scrap market price in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, were unchanged at 26,300 yen per tonne for H2 grade and 29,600 yen for new cutting press at dealers’ purchase price including freight last week.
The dealers’ purchase price was unchanged at around 28,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Tokyo last week. The dealers set the purchase price unchanged when the scrap supply was low after Japanese holidays in mid August. The dealers’ purchase price was unchanged at 24,800 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Nagoya last week. However, local electric furnaces reduced the scrap purchase price to 38,000-38,500 yen for new cutting press while the electric furnaces set the purchase price unchanged at 34,500-35,000 yen for H2 grade. The dealers’ purchase price was unchanged at 26,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka last week.
