Dowa Mining announced it would start the business of home appliance recycling in Kyusyu area, Japan. The firm concluded an agreement to take 55% stakes of Act-B Recycling Co., Ltd., the home appliance recycler in Southern Kyusyu, on Thursday.Act-B was established in December 1999. The capital is 200 million yen and the number of employees is 80. The firm mainly operates in Kumamoto, Kagoshima, Nagasaki, Saga, Miyazaki and Okinawa Prefectures, recycling air conditioner, television, refrigerator and washing machine. The firm treats about 400,000 sets of appliances per year. The net sales were 1.05 billion yen in fiscal 2005 ended March 2006.Dowa Mining Group obtained the second company of home appliance recycling business next to Eco Recycle in Akita Prefecture, Japan. Dowa Mining takes advantage of know-how cultivated in Eco Recycle for Act-B and aims the business expansion of home appliance recycling. Dowa Mining strengthens the network of environmental recycling business in Kyusyu area.
