Fujisash raised the selling price of aluminium building construction materials by 15% for new quotation after February 1. The firm raised the price of construction materials for the first time since it raised the price by 5% in May 2005.Fujisash has advanced cost down and operation downsizing inside the firm. However, the primary aluminium ingot price surged more rapidly than the cost down and other materials costs also increased. The firm decided to cover the higher cost by price hike. Among aluminium sash makers, Sankyo-Tateyama Holdings announced the price hike of building materials and Shin Nikkei Company also raised the selling price in February. Makers are likely to raise the price of housing-related materials next.
