Japanese H-beam import increased by 182% to 21,377 tonnes in January from a year ago, increasing for 6 straight months, according to the trade statistics by Ministry of Finance. The import exceeded 20,000 tonnes for the first time in 3 months.The averaged unit price was 55,837 yen per tonne in January, cheaper by 6,485 yen from a year ago. The unit price was also less than 57,525 yen of the yearly averaged unit price in 2005.H-beam was imported from China and South Korea in January.
