The ferrous scrap market prices in the Tokyo area, Eastern Japan, are still in the strong tone at around 16,500 yen per tonne for H2, around 18,500 yen per tonne for H1 and around 20,500 yen per tonne for HS, for dealers’ purchase prices. Generation of ferrous scrap is likely to increase through the second half of March. The shipping movement is getting active. But some point out it is inactive compared with usual years.The purchase prices of ferrous scrap by electric furnaces steel makers in the Kanto area around Tokyo keep around 24,000-25,000 yen per tonne. The makers continue production according to demand.The market is most likely to remain with its strong tone.
