The new factory busheling scrap cash market keeps its flat trend in the Tokyo area at around 20,100 yen per tonne for press and around 19,100 yen per tonne for non-press for dealers’ purchase prices. That ferrous scrap arrival ratio in the local electric furnace steel manufacturers is over 100% because the scrap’s evening-up of accounts in March, the end of this fiscal year, is increasing. Further, supply’s tightness tends to decrease due to shutdown of operation of some of the furnaces. On the other hand, the purchase prices of new factory busheling scrap in the local electric furnace steel makers have been flat at around 26,000-26,500 yen per tonne. Though the scrap arrival by makers is active, no makers have decreased the official prices so far. As for futures of new factory busheling scrap on Central Japan Commodity Exchange, closing price in April increased 20 yen per tonne from the previous day to 25,520 yen per tonne. In the Osaka area, the ferrous scrap cash market keeps its flat trend at around 11,000 yen per tonne for H2.
