Market prices of ferrous scrap are strong at 10,400 yen per tonne for steel turning scrap, at 13,400 yen per tonne for A grade pig iron turning scrap and at 12,400 yen per tonne for B grade pig iron turning scrap in Tokyo. The prices are most likely to keep in their strong tones for the time being. The turning scrap generation is in line with last week. However, the dealers expect the ferrous scrap generation will increase in general in April. Electric furnace steel makers around Tokyo pay around 16,000-17,000 yen per tonne for turning scrap. The price is still flat.
