H-beam price is flat at 75,000-76,000 yen per tonne in Tokyo at dealers’ sites without freight for products with 200×100 millimeters widths. The demand is improving when order to distributors increases for small lot shipment and delivery in May. The price is likely to keep the level when the inventory is expected to decrease with output reduction and higher shipment. The demand also improves for large building and construction projects, for which makers usually ship to users directly. Distributors expect the higher order will increase dealers’ shipment when makers reduce the acceptance of new order. Market sources said steel structural fabricators have certain order to process despite of the lower price. The anxiety to the future is fading away since the movement of products has come out though the demand level is still low.
