Weak Ferrous Scrap Price in Tokyo

Ferrous scrap price is decreasing in Tokyo. The market price is around 10,400 yen per tonne for steel turning scrap, around 13,400 yen per tonne for A grade pig iron turning scrap and around 12,400 yen per tonne for B grade pig iron turning scrap.Electric furnace steel makers around Tokyo purchase ferrous turning scrap at 15,000-17,000 yen per tonne. Scrap inventory is increasing at the makers and ferrous scrap supply is easing in the region. Scrap dealer sources point out the market price is unchanged even when the electric furnaces raised or reduced the scrap purchase price last week. The market price is likely to weaken in Tokyo. In Osaka area, ferrous scrap price maintains flat at around 15,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade.
