Nippon Steel announced on Tuesday H-beam inventory held by Tokiwa-kai members, which are dealers of Nippon Steels’ products, increased by 5.3% to 294,700 tonnes at the end of March from February. The stock increased for 5 months in a row. The inventory for the shipment increased to 2.2 months and kept more than 2 months for 3 months in a row. Nippon Steel said the inventory increased due to lower dealers’ shipment per day in March than February due to fabrication of structural calculation sheets before makers’ output reduction reduce the shipment for distributors further. The firm said it keeps reducing the supply in line with the demand until the supply balance gets appropriate level though the firm expects the demand will keep firm.
