Japan Diecastings Demand to Jump by 9.2% in FY2006

Japanese diecastings demand will increase by 9.2% to record 1.183 million tonnes in fiscal 2006 started April from fiscal 2005, according to the order outlook by Japan Diecasting Association. The aluminium diecastings demand will keep over 1 million tonnes for 2 consecutive years thanks to firm demand for automobile.The diecastings order will increase for aluminium and zinc for fiscal 2006 from fiscal 2005 while the order for magnesium decreases. The aluminium diecastings demand for automobile will increase by 10.7% in the first half year and by 11.2% in the second half while the demand increases for motorcycle and machinery. The zinc diecastings order also increases due to higher demand for automobile and machinery. The magnesium diecastings demand drops due to slow activity of electric machinery.
