Japan Brass Makers Raise Turning Scrap Purchase Price

Nippon Shindo increased the purchase price of brass turning scrap by 38 yen to 600 yen per kilogram for products with 0.8% or less oil and water in 120 days note payment on Wednesday compared with price on April 13. The price increased by 138 yen from 462 yen at the end of March after the firm increased the price 5 times in April. Sambo Copper Alloy also increased the purchase price of brass turning scrap by 38 yen to 600 yen per kg for 10 tonnes cargo with 0.8% or less oil and water in 120 days note payment for April shipment on Wednesday. They increased the purchase price after indicating Japanese official copper ingot price jumped by 50,000 yen t0 830,000 yen per tonne on Wednesday. The averaged monthly price increased to 774,500 yen under surging offshore price. Japanese official zinc ingot price also increased by 9,000 yen to 419,000 yen per tonne. The averaged monthly price is now 397,600 yen. The brass makers increased the scrap purchase price under tight supply of scrap along with higher price of indicative metal prices.
