H-Beam Price Maintains Flat in Tokyo

H-beam price is flat at 75,000-76,000 yen per tonne in Tokyo at dealers’ sites without freight for products with 100 x 200 millimeters widths. Makers continue to regulate supply volume and to keep the price level. The market price is likely to maintain the present level since last year.The full-scale trade started this week in the market, though the first business day was January 5 after New Year holidays. Distributors indicate demand is better compared with the beginning of 2004. Fabricators received some orders for medium- and small-sized building construction and they order H-beam for distributors. H-beam stocks at dealers increased slightly at the end of December from a month ago with less business days in December. Supply and demand are in balance. Stock out in some sizes is being improved and dealers can receive orders for large volume now. The market price would not change widely in near future when the demand is firm and makers continue to regulate order reception.
