Ferrous scrap price is increasing at 20,600 yen per tonne for pressed new cutting scrap and 19,600 yen for new cutting scrap without press at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep firm. The supply is getting tight with fewer scrap circulation after automobile and appliances plants idled in a week long holiday. Electric furnace steel makers around Tokyo pay 26,500-27,600 yen for new cutting scrap. Especially special steel makers increase the grade of scrap purchase. Ferrous scrap price is firm at 15,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka.
