H-Beam Price Maintains Flat in Tokyo

H-beam market price is around 75,000 yen per tonne in Tokyo for base sized products with 200 x 100 millimeters widths at dealers’ sites without freight. Supply and demand are balanced with low shipment at dealers and less order reception at integrated steel makers. The market price is likely to keep the level for a while.H-beam inventory seemed to decrease slightly at dealers and distributors at the end of May from a month earlier. The inventory volume remained almost flat even with less products arrival. Consequently demand is stagnant. Demand is expected to recover soon, though dealers could realize the improvement after some time.There are some positive factors for the market price when Tokyo Steel Manufacturing raised its H-beam selling price by 2,000 yen per tonne. Real effects have not reached on dealers’ trading and the price. However, the weak tone gradually comes off in the market. Wholesalers wait and see the situation with a background of balanced supply and demand.
