Flat Aluminium Scrap Price in Osaka

Market price of aluminium scrap is flat around Osaka. The purchase price by alloyed aluminium makers is 265-270 yen per kilogram for printing plate, 260-265 yen for new cutting scrap, 215-220 yen for machinery castings, 170-180 yen for alloyed turning scrap, 180-185 yen for pressed aluminium can including freight for truck load. The price keeps the level under the uncertainty for aluminium ingot price. Local alloyed aluminium makers started to reduce the purchase price for first half of June after the aluminium ingot price lunged at London Metal Exchange and domestic primary aluminium ingot price dropped since mid-May. They reduced the price by 10 yen per kg for high grade scrap and by 7-8 yen for lower grades. They tried to reduce the price 5 yen more for high grade scrap reducing the price to around 255 yen for new cutting scrap. However, LME price rebounded in late last week. Primary ingot price also increased when foreign exchange rate of yen decreased against US dollar. A source of alloyed aluminium maker said the maker couldn’t reduce the scrap purchase price for second half of June when the firm cannot reduce the price fully for the first half.
