Scrap export shipment from Osaka was 22,948 tonnes in June, which decreased by 11% from 25,803 tonnes in May and increased by 4% from 22,021 tonnes in June 2005, according to local scrap dealers’ association, Kansai Tetsugen. The heavy scrap shipment halved from May. The mixed scrap shipping has kept more than 10,000 tonnes per month since March 2005. The heavy scrap shipment decreased by 50% to 5,747 tonnes in June from 11,563 tonnes including 1,810 tonnes of processed steel products in May. The volume decreased by 9% from 6,300 tonnes in June 2005. The A grade pressed scrap shipment decreased by 43% to 1,141 tonnes in June from May. The shipment was not recorded in June 2005. The mixed scrap shipment was 16,060 tonnes in June, which increased by 31% from 12,241 tonnes in May and increased by 2% from 15,791 tonnes in June 2005.
