Hanwa Co. launched new flat steel processing center, Hanwa Steel Service (Dongguan) in China. The firm held opening ceremony with attendees from the construction and service providers along with the president Shuji Kita. The firm built new plant with 16,000 square maters of floor space on 66,000 square meters of land in Chashan Industrial Park in Chashan town, Dongguan city of Guangdong. The new subsidiary with US$ 6 million of capital has monthly 6,000 tonnes of processing capacity with a large slitter, 2 mini-levelers and down shearing machine. The new subsidiary is owned 100% by Hanwa while Hanwa’s other 2 steel service centers in Southern China are joint ventures with other firms. Hanwa decided to build new service center to expand the local business and to improve the customer service when local sheet steel demand keeps growing and the users need more sophisticated services.
