Aluminium Scrap Market Price Keeps Flat in Osaka

Market price of aluminium scrap keeps flat except can and sash with screw in Osaka. The purchase price by alloyed aluminium makers is 255-260 yen per kilogram for printing plate scrap, 250-255 yen for new cutting scrap, 248-253 yen for sash scrap, 200-210 yen for auto engine scrap, 165-178 yen for alloyed turning scrap and 168-178 yen for soft pressed aluminium can scrap including freight for truck load.

The market price of aluminium scrap weakened and stayed at the low level after the alloyed aluminium makers decreased their purchase prices watching the decrease of primary aluminium ingot price toward the end of June and scrap arrival increased from dealers to makers as a result.

The primary aluminium price stopped decreasing and scrap supply became tighter in the market entering the hot summer after the long rainy season in July. Scrap dealers offered higher prices against the alloyed aluminium makers under the situation.

However, the makers did not accept the hike to keep the level of purchasing volume and price before the summer holidays of this week. The primary aluminium price is increasing slowly and the makers hold enough scrap stocks at present.

The aluminium scrap market price would fluctuate along the makers’ purchase stances seeing the primary aluminium price after the summer holidays.
