Nippon Shindo to Start Operation of New Tin Plating Line

Osaka based copper alloy products maker, Nippon Shindo will start operation of the new reflow-type tin plating line for brass wire used for connector pins in September, which excels in control of plating thickness. The firm will have 6 reflow-type tin plating lines including the new one and the total output capacity will increase to above 40 tonnes per month. The firm plans to change existing plating lines for new types in turn and will complete the substitution for 1 line within this autumn.Nippon Shindo improved the existent reflow furnace for the new plating line to control the thickness of tin plating more finely and to increase the wire processing capacity. The firm originally planned to build up 2 tin plating lines of the same type as existing ones. However, there was less space to introduce 2 new lines inside the plant. Then the firm constructed a plating line with 1.5-1.6 times higher productivity than the present. The new tin plating line can deal with 10 tonnes of square brass wire per month. Nippon Shindo invested about 150 million yen for the line including related equipment and new plating solutions. The firm already finished the construction and set the line under test running to start the operation in September.
