Japanese steel export increased by 17.5% to 3.025 million tonnes in August from a year ago, which increased by 19.8% to 303.985 billion yen in value, announced by Ministry of Finance on Thursday. Japanese steel import increased by 24.7% to 735,137 tonnes in August from a year earlier, increasing by 6.4% to 69.487 billion yen in value.The steel export decreased by 5.5% bound for European Union (EU) from a year ago and by 7.2% bound for Middle East, while increased by 71.4% for the USA and by 15.8% for Asian area, especially by 13% for China. In value, the export increased by 35.3% bound for the USA, by 18.7% for EU and by 16.8% for Asian area. For China the export value rose by 14.6%.The steel import from the USA decreased by 43.9% and by 7.7% from EU, while increased by 32.7% from Asian area. The import especially increased by 103.5% from China. In value the import from EU decreased by 10.8%, while increasing by 6.2% from the USA and by 19.5% from Asia, especially by 89.2% from China.
