Strong Ferrous Scrap Price around Tokyo

Ferrous scrap price was at 14,900 yen per tonne for steel turning scrap in Tokyo, at 17,900 yen for A grade pig iron turning scrap and at 16,900 yen for B grade pig iron turning scrap at dealers’ purchase price including freight. Electric furnace steel makers around Tokyo purchase turning scrap at around 20,000-20,500 yen per tonne and some pay as high as 23,500 yen. Dealer source explained for ferrous scrap price rise that some integrated steel maker are increasing the order for ferrous scrap in recently in additionally to the increase in production by the electric furnace makers. Ferrous scrap price is strong at around 17,000 yen per tonne for H2 around Osaka.
