Firm Steel Plate Market in Tokyo

Plate steel market price is in the strong tone in Tokyo. The price is around 80,000 yen per tonne for standard size with 19 millimeters thick, 5 feet width and 10 feet length, while the price of cut processed plate is 95,000-100,000 yen. The demand maintains firm for construction machine and industrial machine, which is recovering for bridge as well. However, steel plate processors don’t get the order as expected because large projects are contracted by business houses or steel makers directly. They cannot raise their selling price. The inventory in the market is decreasing. The delivery is delaying by the steel maker despite of they are continuing full operation. There is possible that thee supply and demand becomes tighter in the future. One steel maker said that his company can’t afford to delivery by regular repairing against many orders. Some processor is increasing selling price. However, it seems that the market price keeps flat because the demand for small and middle building is low.
