Flat Ferrous Scrap Price in Tokyo

Ferrous scrap price is flat at 25,100 yen per tonne for pressed new cutting scrap and 24,100 yen for new cutting grade without press at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is expected to keep the level under the balanced supply. Kanto Tetsugen holds today scrap export tender for 10,000-20,000 tonnes shipment in December. The previous tender price was 27,487 yen per tonne. The market interests expect if the tender price will be flat, the local market price keeps the level. Local electric furnace steel makers pay 29,500-30,000 yen per tonne for new cutting scrap. They are still cautious to reduce the purchase price with uncertainty. Ferrous scrap price is flat at around 17,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka.
