Firm Colored Galvanizing Steel Price in Tokyo

Colored galvanizing steel price is firm at 215,000 yen per tonne for small coil and 194,000 yen for large coil with 0.35 millimeters thick around Tokyo. The price is expected to keep firm when JFE Galvanizing & Coating increases the selling price by more than 10,000 yen per tonne for December shipment after Nisshin Steel increased the price by more than 10,000 yen for October shipment. The makers increased the selling price by more than 10,000 yen per tonne for July shipment to cover the higher cost for zinc and aluminium since late 2005. They indicated additional hike citing they couldn’t cover the higher cost by the first hike. JFE Galvanizing & Coating decided the additional hike under tight supply after the firm postponed the hike in October to watch market condition. The other makers could increase the price again when the zinc price keeps increasing.
