Mid-sized Plate Price Keeps Strong around Tokyo

Mid-sized plate price is expected to continue increasing around Tokyo because coil centers and distributors are confirming sales stances for the improvement of their profit, and the supply and demand becomes tight in good demand. Tokyo Steel Manufacturing is expected to raise the selling price of it in January shipment. Large dealers think to impregnate their price hike which increase by 2,000 yen per tonne before the end of this year.

The market price is 65,000-66,000 yen per tonne with 3.2 millimeters thick, 3 feet width and 6 feet length around Tokyo for processors’ selling price.

The demand keeps good for construction materials and machinery. Large dealer source said the demand is increasing with month in October and November. The inventory is decreasing in the market when inflow of import products decreased, and coil centers and distributors around Tokyo reduced the purchase in July-October contracts.

Secondary and third distributors could not pass the increase of cost price on their reselling prices enough so far. However, large dealers and coil centers is raising their selling price when their profit is tight.
