Firm Ferrous Scrap Price in Tokyo

Ferrous scrap price is firm at 17,900 yen per tonne for steel turning scrap, at 20,900 yen for A grade pig iron turning scrap and at 19,900 yen for B grade pig iron turning scrap at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is expected to keep firm when local electric furnace steel makers try to secure more scrap preparing for year end holiday. The local makers pay around 22,500 yen per tonne for turning scrap and some pay as high as 26,500 yen. The makers prepare for year end holiday before scrap dealers enter holiday. Ferrous scrap price is also firm at around 22,000 yen per tonne around Osaka.
