Nippon Steel Engineering’s steel plants unit announced on Tuesday the firm got order for electrolytic tinning line and related equipments from Tinplate Company of India (TCIL), which is affiliate of Tata Steel. Nippon Steel Engineering provides the line with around 200,000 tonnes of annual output capacity for around 2 billion yen.TCIL is the largest tinplate maker in India with around 150,000 tonnes of output in fiscal 2005. The firm decided to introduce the second line to meet growing demand in India. The firm starts the operation of new line in spring of 2008 expanding the output capacity to 350,000 tonnes in companywide. Nippon Steel Engineering won the business due to the strong performance including 25 lines of sales including conversion in the world and cost competitiveness despite of the competition with European rivals. Nippon Steel Engineering had got order for heat recovery equipment for hot stove of blast furnace from Tata Steel.
