Toyo Aluminium to Hike Plain Aluminium Foil by 80 yen/kg

Osaka based aluminium processor, Toyo Aluminium announced on Wednesday the firm increases the selling price of plain aluminium foil by 80 yen per kilogram effective on February 1 shipment. The firm tries to improve the profitability through the hike when aluminium ingot price surges even after the selling price hikes in February and July. The firm said the hike includes 50 yen per kg for ingot and 30 yen for processing charge. The firm tries to pass the higher cost price including ingot, production loss, heavy oil, rolling oil and subsidiary materials. The firm already increased the price by 60 yen per kg in February and 80-100 yen in July. The firm also tries to increase the price for processed foil products step by step. The competitor aluminium foil makers are likely to follow the pioneer’s move.
