Japan Secondary Alloyed Aluminium Price Decreases in August

Japanese secondary alloyed aluminium makers agreed with the users including die-casting makers to decrease the ingot selling price by averaged 2-3 yen per kilogram for August shipment. The price decreased by 5 yen per kg for some users who had adopted the higher price so far.The ingot price decreased slightly when aluminium scrap market declined in June and July. Primary aluminium price at London Metal Exchange was weaker in August than July, though the price sustained over US$ 2,400 per tonne. The demand for secondary alloyed aluminium maintains strong from the users of automobile industry and seems to keep the brisk tone for a while.Alloyed aluminium makers aim to keep the price unchanged for September shipment. They try to sustain the price level to cover higher operation and distribution costs due to high oil price in June and July along with higher raw material costs.
