H-beam market price is firm at 75,000-76,000 yen per tonne for product with 200 by 100 millimeters width without freight around Tokyo. The price is accelerated to increase when Tokyo Steel Manufacturing increases the selling price and Nippon Steel reduces the shipment for distributors. The demand is slow generally though the demand is not bad for medium sized products. The distributors’ inventory was said to decrease at the end of January from December under lower shipment by makers. The distributors’ inventory is low level as they have some stock out sizes. Some distributors try not to sell at lower price to secure the inventory under low level shipment while other distributors concern they could miss business chance due to the low inventory. The distributors try to increase the reselling price to more than 76,000 yen per tonne in the month. They target 76,000 yen without freight and 78,000 yen including freight.
