Firm Colored Galvanizing Steel Price in Tokyo

Colored galvanizing flat steel price is firm at 215,000 yen per tonne for small coil and 194,000 yen for large coil with 0.35 millimeters thick around Tokyo. The price is likely to increase when the distributors try to pass the higher cost price on the reselling price after the makers’ hike. The makers increased the selling price to cover higher cost for zinc and coating materials after the hike in July. The distributors try to cover the more than 10,000 yen per tonne of higher cost price despite of the difficulty under slower market. The larger whole sellers are likely to pass the higher cost price but smaller processors including cutting and welding processors and mesh and processed products makers are expected not to pass the higher cost. The processors are reducing the profit under the higher cost and still lower selling price though the business condition is better due to warmer winter than usual.
