Sumitomo Metal Industries agreed with some users to increase the coated sheet steel export price by US$ 30-50 per tonne for January-June shipment or April-September delivery. The firm starts the price hike negotiation for pickling steel, cold rolled sheet and coated steel for April-June shipment with Japanese transplants in Southeast Asia. The firm said the users increase the order under firm demand when the Asian market price increases in the year after inventory adjustment from overstock in last year.
