Strong Angle and Channel Price in Tokyo

Equal angle market price is 72,000 yen per tonne for product with 6 millimeters thick and 50 mm width around Tokyo. Channel price is 78,000 yen for product with 5 mm thick and 50 by 100 mm width. Following JFE Bars & Shapes Corporation which is Japanese major angle and channel maker, Osaka Steel raised the selling price by 3,000 yen per tonne for contract in March. The market price is expected to be strong. Dealers will pass the makers’ price hike on their selling price straight by 3,000 yen per tonne without step by step. However, their shipments are low. Dealers’ price hike isn’t expected to advance without much resistance. Many dealers said dealers’ price hike requires time when their markup is large. JFE Bars & Shapes has the order for large size equal angle slightly. As for other item and size, each maker’s outstanding contract amount is few.
