Flat H-Beam Price in Tokyo

H-beam market price is strong at 76,000 yen per tonne for product with 200 by 100 millimeters width at dealers’ sites without freight around Tokyo. Dealers target to raise their selling price to 77,000-78,000 yen per tonne. Some dealers started announce of their price hike to users. The market price is expected to keep strong tone.Sumikin Steel, Japanese H-beam maker, announced to raise the selling price of H-beam by 3,000 yen per tonne for contract in March. When the firm delivers to mainly market around Osaka, the firm’s price hike doesn’t make influence to the market around Tokyo directly. However, the view prevail that integrated steel makers would also increase their selling price in March order when electric furnace makers, major integrated steel manufactures’ subsidiaries, raised their selling price.Dealers’ shipment remained un-improvement. Dealer source said the firm may miss the price hike if the firm is gripped by other dealers’ movement. Dealers are seemed they change their attitude. Dealers’ price hike is expected to require much time. However, the market price tone is becoming to upward trend.
