Carbon steel wire price is strong around Tokyo. The price is 91,000 yen per tonne for product with 4 millimeters diameter and 83,000 yen for commodity grade product. Steel wire makers increased their selling price due to wire rod makers’ price hike. It is a point that how much time does dealers and users’ price hike require. The market price is expected to keep the present level. Steel wire makers increased their selling price by average over 5,000 yen per tonne. Yasuda Sangyo, Japanese major steel wire maker, increased the selling price by 5,000 yen per tonne from shipment in January 21, and re-increased the price by 5,000 yen in April shipment. Dealer source said dealers’ selling price fell largely. It is strong mood that steel wire makers will fix new selling price in the market.
